Puerto Plata has some of the best beaches in the country such as Sosúa, Playa Dorada, Maimón, Cafemba, Playa Grande, Cabarete, among others. In some, such as Playa Dorada, Cofresí, Long Beach or Cabarete, various types of sports are practiced such as jet ski racing, surfing, windsurfing, kite or sailing. Other beaches are found along the boardwalk, or in Boca Nueva, Playa de Copello, Bergantín or La Mariposa. In addition to beaches and water sports, in Puerto Plata you can practice hiking, biking, adventure tourism or visit the reserves and natural parks such as the Isabel de Torres Mountain, the Cabarete Lagoon or Los Caños de Estero Hondo. Puerto Plata is a municipality in the Dominican Republic, located in the province of Puerto Plata. It is one of the most populated cities in the Dominican Republic and the most important city on the north coast of the country. It is also the only city in the Dominican Republic where a large percentage of its population uses English as a second language both to communicate and to use it  in the workplace, given the vocation of becoming a bilingual city. It is one of the cities with the highest tourist activity in the country, also being the only city in the Caribbean to have 2 high-level cruise ports, receiving up to 4 cruise ships simultaneously. This city has the most important commercial port in the northern region of the Dominican Republic and has the most important Victorian-style architectural conservation in the country in its cultural center, which is visited by thousands of tourists a year.
